Nucleases

Nucleases are enzymes that degrade nucleic acids, such as DNA and RNA, by cleaving the phosphodiester bonds between nucleotides. They come in two main types: exonucleases, which remove nucleotides from the ends of nucleic acid strands, and endonucleases, which cut within the strand. Nucleases play essential roles in DNA repair, replication, and RNA processing.
