Acrylmide

Acrylamide is a chemical compound used to form polyacrylamide gels, commonly used in electrophoresis to separate proteins or nucleic acids based on size. When mixed with a crosslinker such as bis-acrylamide, it creates a controlled gel matrix for precise molecular separation. Because acrylamide is a potential neurotoxin and carcinogen, it must be handled with caution in laboratory environments.
